Chevalier Thanksgiving

Who are all these people??

George the 8th (cousin) greeted by the familial bizarro cast of characters for his first Thanksgiving:

Uncle John "The Key Snatcher" and his lover, Daddy.

Elizabeth, Uncle Ed, Amy and The Story of Snow Obama and the Wicked Hilary:Tracy "I'm marrying a Canadian!" and Scott "I'm marrying a chick from Jersey!" with Aunt Meg:

and more...

GG "Curious George is a wrestler??", Californians Mike & Elizabeth, and Aunt Lori, George's favorite:

All in the Family

George visited by Aunt Sarah & Uncle Jon, Aunt Lori & Uncle John, cousins Nick, Will and Matt, and GG and Nana this weekend.

George was sent a special blanket by Grma Suzie-- ribbon tags sewn on a lovey, and the ribbons were from Great Grma Kathryn Hart's (Joel's grandmother) collection at the farm. Her memorial service is today and we are thinking of the Summys in Iowa.
Also George Hart was indeed a real person, dating back 6 generations to early 1800's in Wayne County, Indiana. An original 'westerner' on the prairie plain. Cool!

Party at The Crib, 4 am

George is a night-owl. Despite the spit-up and boob-longing, the similarities to college-days end there.
Currently he is all swaddled up in a sling on my chest, and soon we'll go do a walk-a-bout as far as the kitchen.
Hopefully no restless natives in there.

Homecoming was very sweet and welcome after a long last day in the hospital. The kids had made welcome-home posters with Nana, and were jumping out of their skin to see us.

First night was rough, we'll leave it at zero sleep.
Since then we have just been working through piles of mail and laundry (Joel), enjoying food delivery courtesy of family and friends, and taking everyone up on activities for Viv & Otto.
Both kids have been exceptionally helpful, adoring, and curious about all things George.

His dr appt today was passed with flying colors, and much to the relief of Vivian, no shots. Everyone (me too) is healthy and doing great. Thanks for all your calls and well-wishes.

You can't see perspective here, but this basket is over 2ft wide- absolutely gigantic, beautiful flowers from Aunt Lurenna
