...Went to the ER!
Thanks to all friends and family for well-wishes and support with kids while we were at Hotel a la Childrens Memorial. We are home now, and George is 100% healthy and fine.
To catch anyone up that wants the whole story:
Sunday evening George threw up and aspirated (inhaled) the vomit, and couldn't breathe properly. We called 911 after a couple of minutes of trying to clear his airways and revive him, as he wasn't recovering and turned many hideous colors, eventually getting gray-blue and clammy. The ambulance was here in short order and cleared his passageways and gave him oxygen. Thankfully he had been gasping intermittently so did not shut down completely.
We were taken over to West Sub ER, definitely an experience at midnight on a Sunday, where they stabilized him (and his parents). At 3am they thought best to transfer to Childrens Memorial in the city for further observation, though at that point he had recovered completely and was back to his pretty pink self. Above was his sweet ride to the city.
We were at Children's until this afternoon, Tuesday.
Our time well-spent there, looking for root causes of why he has been vomiting lately (not first time) and to make sure no lingering, long-term damage from the low oxygen episode.
The nutshell is: He is behaving like himself, personality unchanged, feeding well, and hitting his developmental milestones so no damage done. As for why vomiting, we have no definitive answers.
We were assured probably not food allergy as some other symptoms would have presented themselves , but obviously food sensitivity/allergies is forefront of my mind and will be looked into further with Otto's doctor. We had some xrays done, looked at his swallowing, palate, etc and physically everything normal. We learned how to slow him down a little more with eating, and thorough CPR lesson before going home.
Happy to have hot shower and healthy boy, and all is well.
